Exminster Golf Club LuncheonAround ten members got together for a light summer lunch. Good food and good company were the order of the day. And what a day, clear blue skies sun and a view over the Exe River estuary. It feels like summer is finally here.   Birthday Celebration at the Elizabethan Inn Around a dozen members gathered together to celebrate the birthday of one of our members. Last year we went out to the Manor Inn but this year our friend found a venue closer to home to hold the celebations. The venue has a nice feel to it and the owners and staff are all friendly and helpful. All who attended had a lovely time. I'm looking forward to next year already.     Summer Picnic at Fingle Bridge
Due to the weather this event was postponed for a week. What a difference a week can make. We had the perfect summers day for a picnic, sunshine and just a hint of a breeze. After we had eaten some of us went for a stroll along the river. Stunning Devon countryside, a stream, food, a walk and sunshine. Brilliant.  The days not over yet. Later that evening a crowd of IVC members got together for the Topsham Charter Fair. This event had been running all day but in the evening down on the quay there was a bit of a "do". A band for dancing, food tents for food, beer tent for beer, fun for all the family. A little after 9pm a firework display that my pictures do not do justice. The end literally lit up the sky with a bang. The end of a great day .       |
